Custom video surveillance sign – GDPR compliant

XONI designs and engraves video surveillance signs to clearly indicate the presence of CCTV systems, in full compliance with current legislation.
The signs are made from high-quality plexiglass and laser-engraved on the reverse side.

Whenever a CCTV system is in place, a clear information sign is legally required.
Its purpose is to:

• inform people that they are being recorded,
• explain their privacy rights,
• provide contact details for the data controller.

Legal framework

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) has been applicable since 25 May 2018.

Obligations include:

• legitimate interest,
• necessity and proportionality,
• no audio recording,
• maximum image retention of 4 weeks,
• rights of access, erasure, restriction and objection.
